Kinder World: Cozy Plants - A Heartfelt Farewell and New Beginnings

Today we’re full of bittersweet emotion, as we release the final planned update for Kinder World: Cozy Plants - and it’s a meaningful one. Thanks to the care and feedback from our wonderful players, this update brings a beautifully improved watering experience with speed customization so it suits your own style. We also hope you enjoy caring for your plants inside your very own rooms, and every player will find a special thank-you note with 500 Dog Treats waiting in their mailbox today.

After a lot of difficult navigation, we’ve made the hard decision to end active development on Kinder World: Cozy Plants. The reason is primarily because we haven’t been able to attract enough new players for this particular game to be financially viable. This decision was not made lightly. Since we began this journey back in late 2020, Kinder World has meant so much to us - it carried our founding team through long COVID lockdowns, connected us with many incredible teammates over the years, and grew into a gentle place that over 2.5 million players have touched across the world.

Today, we are a much smaller team and facing a very difficult environment and market. Guided by our values, we’ve decided to keep paying the server costs so Kinder World: Cozy Plants will still be available to play, but our limited resources and daily development must focus on new opportunities now.

This means that level 26 is now the final player level available in Kinder World: Cozy Plants. You won’t lose any items, plants, decorations etc that you own, and you won’t lose any data or progress with this final update. Unfortunately this means that there is no support available if you encounter bugs or account problems in future. We will respond to all current support tickets for player issues to make sure they have this information directly, but we cannot provide more support help in future.

This has been a very difficult time to navigate, and we’re so thankful for the understanding and patience of our players as we’ve tried many other avenues. Creating Kinder World for several years has been our dream come true as game developers, and changed our lives forever. We’re endlessly proud of everyone that has worked with us to create this game world, and the kindness, creativity, and community that have flourished around it.

Though this chapter of active development is coming to a close, Kinder World: Cozy Plants isn’t disappearing, and a new chapter is already underway. Our small team is hard at work on a new game world that is very different, yet reflects similar values around self care - one that we can’t wait to share more about soon!

Below, we’ll be answering questions you may have about this transition, but for now, from the bottom of our hearts: thank you. Thank you so much for caring for your plants, your hearts, and one another. You’ve made creating Kinder World, Samy and their friends a truly special and life-changing experience.

With love,
Lauren & Christina, with the Kinder World Team 🌱💗

FAQ

What will happen to my Kinder World: Cozy Plants game?

No change, aside from our last update that just released. Your game and data will still be there, and isn’t going away. We have no planned date for Kinder World: Cozy Plants to become unavailable on the app stores, and if that has to change in future we will let everyone know in-game. The only other change is that we unfortunately cannot provide support or fixes for technical issues in Kinder World any longer.

What about Kinder World: Mother Tree?

Ending active development on Kinder World means that we unfortunately cannot progress with our plans for Kinder World: Mother Tree as an expansion, but the demo version is still available. We will get in touch with every Kickstarter backer to deliver any partial rewards, offer rewards in our new game, or arrange refunds wherever possible on a case by case basis. To our Kickstarter backers, please look out for a special announcement there and direct contact with our team will be on the way to you as soon as we can.

What game are you working on?

We’re really looking forward to sharing more information about this with our Kinder World player community soon! While the setting and vibe is very different to Kinder World, this new game will also explore our vision and themes of self care. We haven’t been developing it for long at all, but our progress has been fast once we understood that we have to change our planned development. Once we share an announcement here on what we’re making, the Kinder World community will have priority on a playtesting sign-up if you’re interested in our next game.

Is there anything we can do to help?

Thank you so much. Our players have already been the best community that anyone could ask for, and we have no expectation. Because Kinder World: Cozy Plants will stay available in the app stores and function as a game as usual, you can still recommend the game to friends, shop with your gifted Dog Treats, or any extra purchases will go directly to help us keep making games. We’ll also share news about our next game soon,, and joining the playtest list will also be a big help for our future (if it’s interesting for you!).

What will happen to the Kinder World community?

It continues! We don’t plan on shutting down our Kinder World Discord, Instagram, BlueSky or Twitter/X accounts, but our small team must focus on what comes next as a priority. We won’t be very active in these spaces ourselves, but our players are very welcome to continue as a community. For any news about our next game, Kinder World players will get the announcement news soon as well, and also have a priority sign-up playtesting list for anyone interested.

What if I have other questions that aren’t covered here?

You can email support@lumiinteractive.com with other questions, and we’ll do our best to look out for questions in the Kinder World Discord as well. Thank you in advance as we have a lot of communication to work through with these changes, so resolving any questions will take time.
